As a former kindergarten teacher, I’ve read countless picture books and wrote/illustrated many stories in my classrooms. I could see the important role that children’s picture books play in students’ literacy development and how early connection with pictures books help students develop a love for reading. In 2014, I started to pursue publishing stories that I had written and illustrated. I received the Moonbeam Children’s Book Award for How Does the Wind Start to Blow? (2014), Papa Why Does the Sun Shine? (2015), and Who Will Be My Friend? (2017). My writing and illustration life keeps me busy. Last year, I presented to 30+ elementary schools and libraries. I have also, spoken at different conferences throughout Wisconsin, including the 2017 SCBWI- Wisconsin Fall Retreat, University of Wisconsin Stout- Early Childhood Conference, and now the upcoming 2018 Untitled Town Book and Author Festival.

Talk to me about writing, illustrating, self publishing, etc... I love to talk shop!
